In the tradition of the passenger trains called “Sputnik“, the special train travels the entire 130-kilometre route on Berlin’s outer ring. The Ring owes its existence to the division of Berlin.
Starting in the 1950s, the Deutsche Reichbahn built a continuous double-track line. Thanks to numerous track connections with the main lines leading to Berlin, the outer ring is still an important part of the railway infrastructure in Berlin today.

Hohenschönhausen, Biesdorfer and Grünauer Kreuz, the train passes Schönefeld Airport and travels along the southern half of the Berlin Ring. Via Potsdam and the Havelland region, the train reaches Wustermark again
Wustermark is reached again and the train leaves the ring. After a short time, the starting station Charlottenburg and the end of the journey are reached.
