Also this year there will be a visit to the railway friends in Staßfurt. For years they have been a good address for successful railway events, such as the Steam Locomotive Festival. Thousands of steam locomotive and railway friends with their families experience photogenic freight trains, a turntable parade and cab rides, vehicle exhibition, railway market and much more. Body and soul are also catered for. The historic express train from Berlin macht Dampf macht will take you via Brandenburg and Magdeburg directly to the festival grounds at the Staßfurt Leopoldshall depot.

Aschersleben is home to what is probably the largest collection of former GDR small and factory railway locomotives, freight cars, historic road vehicles and fire brigades.
From the Staßfurt railway station, you can take a bus to Aschersleben as soon as the train arrives, and after two hours you can return to the Steam Locomotive Festival in the Staßfurt depot.
The additional costs for the excursion are 10 € extra per person and 5 € extra for children from 6-14 years.
