A special trip to the Westerzgebirge – Travel with the Historic Express Train of the Steam Locomotive Friends Berlin to Cranzahl, to the Fichtelbergbahn in the Westerzgebirge. From Berlin to Chemnitz, the special train is hauled by diesel locomotive 119 158.
From Chemnitz, steam locomotive 50 3648 takes over the onward journey to Cranzahl. The journey takes us through the Zwönitz Valley and over the famous Makersbach Viaduct. Once in Cranzahl, you can travel on the Fichtelberg Railway to
Oberwiesenthal, which lies at an altitude of almost 900 metres. The return journey goes from Cranzahl via Wolkenstein, Zschopau and Chemnitz back to Berlin. Arrival in Berlin also marks the end of the special trip to the Westerzgebirge.
